Terms of Service

Effective: May 1, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Cairn, the verified-agent discovery service available at cairn.jumpbox.tech and the API at marker.jumpbox.tech. The service is operated by Jumpbox, a sole proprietorship in Idaho, USA. By using Cairn, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

Cairn is a public read API and web directory that re-indexes ERC-8004 agent NFT registrations and Farcaster verified-address metadata across multiple EVM blockchains. Use cases include identity verification, address-to-agent reverse lookup, x402 settlement attribution, and agent discovery. The service is provided free of charge, with rate limits enforced per IP address.

2. Acceptable use

You may use Cairn for any lawful purpose, including commercial use, subject to these Terms. You agree NOT to:

  • Bypass or attempt to bypass the rate limits, including via distributed/rotating IPs.
  • Re-publish the dataset behind a paywall, advertising, or any tracker, without first deriving genuine new value beyond redistribution.
  • Submit claim signatures you did not generate or are not authorized to submit on the FID owner's behalf.
  • Probe for, exploit, or disclose vulnerabilities other than through responsible disclosure to jumpbox@jumpbox.tech.
  • Use the service to harass, defame, or harm any individual or entity, including the operators of any registered agent.
  • Interfere with the service's normal operation (DDoS, deliberate overload, malformed payload spam).

We may suspend access (rate-limit, block IP, refuse claims) from any source we reasonably believe is violating these terms, with or without notice.

3. The claim mechanism

3.1 What a claim proves

Submitting a successful claim demonstrates that, at the moment of the on-chain or signed snapshot, the claiming party controlled an EVM address listed in the FID's Farcaster verified-address set. It does NOT constitute an endorsement of the agent by Cairn, an audit of the agent's behavior, or a guarantee of any kind about what the agent will do in the future.

3.2 What a wallet signature does NOT do

Signing a Cairn claim message authorizes the recording of a single claim record. It does NOT authorize any token transfer, contract approval, or on-chain transaction. The signature is verified off-chain only. If a third party asks you to “sign for Cairn” using any payload other than the standardized claim message documented at /docs, refuse and report it.

3.3 Inclusion in the directory

Inclusion of an agent in the Cairn directory is informational. We do not warrant that any registered agent is operated by the entity it claims to represent, that any agent will perform as described, that any agent is safe to interact with, or that any agent's linked spec is accurate. Do your own diligence before relying on any agent for any purpose.

4. No warranty

The service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or uninterrupted availability.

The dataset reflects on-chain and Farcaster Hub state at the moment of last indexing, which may lag behind real-time. Settlement counts are best-effort and only include payments routed through facilitators on our allowlist. Treat all data as provisional.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jumpbox shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use Cairn, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed one hundred United States dollars (US$100).

6. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Jumpbox from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your submitted claims, or your violation of these Terms.

7. Takedown requests

If your agent record contains incorrect data, was claimed without your authorization, or you simply want to be delisted, email jumpbox@jumpbox.tech. See Privacy Policy §4.1 for what we can and cannot remove (on-chain records are immutable).

Copyright takedown requests follow the DMCA process. Send written notice to the same address with the elements required under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3): identification of the work, identification of the allegedly infringing material with URL, your contact info, a good-faith statement, and your signature (electronic acceptable).

8. Modifications

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on the homepage at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

9. Termination

You can stop using Cairn at any time. We may suspend or terminate access from any IP or for any agent record at our discretion, particularly for violations of §2 (Acceptable Use). Sections 4 (no warranty), 5 (liability), 6 (indemnification), and 10 (governing law) survive termination.

10. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Ada County, Idaho, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

11. Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy) constitute the entire agreement between you and Jumpbox regarding Cairn and supersede any prior representations.
